Women of elca (WELCA)
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society and the world.
Here are the projects that the WELCA does:
Since 1945, U.S. Lutherans have provided material resources for people in need around the world. The quilts and kits travel through a well-coordinated, intercontinental pipeline to get from our church to those in need and who deeply appreciate our gifts of comfort.
• Deborah Circle is responsible for the baby kits. Members gather kit and items throughout the year.
• The Personal Care Kits & School Kits are being put together with the help of the congregation.
• The Kits and Quilts are boxed and delivered once a year to the Lutheran World Relief warehouses
to be re-boxed, shipped, and distributed where needed at home or overseas.
