On The Spot Aid Inc.

On The Spot Aid Inc. is a street medicine outreach program serving people experiencing homelessness in Port Charlotte and South Sarasota County, Florida. Founded by healthcare professionals Cindy and Bonnie Voortman, the organization provides medical assessments, treatment, education, and basic first aid supplies directly to individuals living on the streets. Their mission was created to bridge the gap between homelessness and healthcare by bringing compassionate medical care directly to those who have limited access to traditional services.

Originally established as a school, the organization later shifted its focus to helping adults with disabilities live independently, find employment, and achieve personal goals within their communities. Today, Loveland Center continues its mission of promoting equality, inclusion, and support for individuals of all abilities.

The TWIG

The Twig Cares is a Venice, FL-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides a free boutique shopping experience for children in foster care. It offers new or gently used clothing, shoes, and accessories to children from birth to age 18, aiming to provide dignity and boost self-esteem. The boutique is located at 826 Pinebrook Road, Venice.

Venice Area Mobile Meals 

Venice Area Mobile Meals began in 1969 as a community meal delivery program serving individuals in the Greater Venice, Florida area who are unable to prepare meals due to physical or mental disabilities. Operated entirely by volunteers, the nonprofit delivers meals six days a week year-round, including holidays. Guided by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by hundreds of community volunteers, the organization remains independently funded through donations and fundraising efforts rather than government support.

Pregnancy Solutions

Pregnancy Solutions is a pro-life, non-profit women's pregnancy clinic in Florida (Venice, North Port, Port Charlotte, Arcadia) offering free, confidential, and compassionate services for unexpected pregnancies. They provide, free services including urine pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasounds, and, pregnancy options counseling.

South County Food Pantry

South County Food Pantry provides food assistance to families and individuals in need throughout the Venice, Nokomis, Laurel, and Osprey areas. Operated by more than 100 volunteers and funded entirely through community donations, the pantry serves around 1,200 people each month, including many children, seniors, homeless individuals, and struggling families. In addition to supplying food, the pantry focuses on personal support and meaningful human connection, helping clients through difficult times with compassion and dignity.

The WareHouse of Venice has provided a safe and positive environment for Venice-area middle and high school students since 2007. The organization helps young people build connections, make positive choices, and prepare for future success through activities, events, and community service opportunities. By encouraging youth leadership and volunteerism, The WareHouse of Venice empowers students to engage with and give back to their community.

Coffee Talk Venice 

Coffee Talk Venice is a group of nondenominational volunteers who work towards helping the homeless of the Venice area. Our clients include many homeless veterans. We distribute sack lunches and hot meals every Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 AM to noon at a pavilion in Legacy Park, behind the Train Depot. Join us in our mission to provide support and care to those in need.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties have served the community since 1970 by providing programs and support for thousands of young people. Since 1968, Big Brothers Big Sisters has worked to inspire and support young people through mentoring relationships that help them reach their full potential. Over the years, the organization expanded across multiple counties in Florida, becoming in 1996. Today, the organization serves a wide region while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion to ensure all youth, families, volunteers, and staff feel valued and supported in overcoming barriers to success.
